Canada Day, tennis and almost 40°C outside Probably our hottest social so far — literally Somehow we survived, played a lot of tennis and still had the best time at Eglinton Flats with our crew

Coaches fed a variety of serve speeds and spins while players worked on split-step timing and picking a return target before contact. By the end, players were consistently redirecting returns deep to both corners.

We ran a lighthearted doubles round robin with a holiday theme, complete with a best-sweater vote at the net. It's become one of our favourite ways to bring the community together before the winter break.

It was a total experiment and honestly, a little risky We didn’t know what to expect, but we loved it so much that it became a tradition. Tennis, new people and good vibes — exactly how we like it.

This one stayed mostly off the court: we talked through breathing and reset routines, how to handle a bad line call, and building a consistent pre-point ritual. Players finished by practicing the routines during light drilling to make them second nature.

Good tennis starts with the legs, so this session skipped the racquet for the first half hour and went straight into footwork ladders and shadow drills. We then applied the patterns to live rallies so players could feel the difference immediately.
